I can’t think of just one thing, but the funniest person I’ve been around, the guy who’s entertaining and funny all day every day, there’s never a dull moment, or a time he’s quiet, is Fred Smoot. If you took a poll around the NFL, he would definitely come out to be everyone’s favorite teammate.

My best play (so far):
When I was with Denver I ran a flat route against Kansas City. I caught a pass and took it 66 yards for a touchdown. I also ran for three touchdowns that day. That was the game that kind of made me a household name, made everybody pay attention and got me a lot of fans.
Closest friends in football:
Santana Moss, Edgerrin James, Fred Davis.
Favorite foods:
Soul food, pork chops, rice and gravy, mac and cheese and Kool-Aid. I mix up the Kool-Aid flavors.
Favorite movies:
“The Five Heartbeats” is my favorite. I also like “Harlem Knights,” the first “Deuce Bigalow” and “Life.”
What’s in your iPod?
Actually I’m an old school soul/R&B fan. Right now Leigh Jones is on fire, real hot, Norah Jones is real hot. I also like Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild and Trey Songz.
Superstitions:
I don’t really have any. When I was younger I had to see my mom at the game in the stadium before I could get going. Now I just know she’s going to call three hours before every game to make sure I left her tickets at will-call.
Best qualities for a person to have:
You have to be trustworthy. If it’s you, let that be you. Don’t stray too far from what you preach or what you talk about. Don’t try to be somebody you’re not. I know who I am, I know what I am.
Charities:
I can’t name just one but in the past I have helped out with the Special Olympics, special needs kids and inner-city youth.
My hero is:
My mom and my grandparents. They always worked hard enough to provide for everybody. My grandparents always had all their kids and their grandkids there all together and I always had all I needed. I got to go on road trips. Lots of people don’t get to experience that throughout their life, and for me I was fascinated by the tall buildings and lights at night when we went to a big city. That always made me want to get out of Mississippi and live in a big city, to be successful, to have a condo in a high-rise. I made it there and I give them all the credit. My mom always made me report every move I made, and though I didn’t like it at the time, now I get it. I appreciate it.
